Laminar and Radial Flow Diffusers

Laminar flow diffusers are used to deliver air to surface directly underneath in a non-aspirating air pattern, with the minimum possible room air entrainment. This minimizes the particulate contamination on the surface being "washed". Common applications include operating rooms, laboratories, and clean rooms.

Radial flow diffusers are used in applications that call for higher airflows than normal, with much shorter throws than normal. The most common application is the laboratory room that has exhaust hoods present. Laboratories tend to be smaller than normal, with higher airflows due to processes taking place, and the air distribution plan has to avoid entraining air from the lab hoods into the occupied space.
